- Alberta Green Building Technologies Symposium 2009
The Government of Alberta, in cooperation with the Canadian Home Builders’ Association-Calgary Region, invite you to attend the Alberta Green Technologies Symposium, a two-day conference and trade show taking place December 8th and 9th at the BMO Centre, Calgary Stampede Grounds.
Day one of the Symposium will focus on the latest information regarding green building practices and design, cutting edge technology, high performance systems and how companies can best market & sell to their consumer. The day will also include a sit down dinner, followed by a presentation on the Calgary student built solar home, “Sol Abode”, which relies solely on solar energy for heat and power. This group recently competed as Team Alberta in the US Solar Decathlon, Washington DC. The solar house will be further demonstrated and showcased as part of the Alberta program during the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
Day two is dedicated to trade, investment and export development. The focus of the day will be on the size of the green market, industry trends, emerging technologies, investment opportunities, export initiatives and financing options. A distinguished list of speakers will present valuable information for delegates to elevate their practical knowledge and gain exposure to trade, investment and market development opportunities.
A manufacturer’s showcase on both days will provide a tradeshow opportunity for companies to display their innovative green products and technologies so attendees can get up and close and personal with the latest innovations and ask questions to those in the know.
There are several high profile speakers at the event including Government of Alberta Minister of Finance and Enterprise, Iris Evans, TV personality Mike Holmes who will share his views on green construction, Tim McEnery, VP International, US Green Building Council, Pattie Glenn, The Green$mart Companies, Todd Hirsch, Senior Economist, ATB Financial and many more.
