Just coming back from a visit to Germany I have some interesting information to share:
Clouds cover the skies for about two-thirds of all daylight hours in Germany. Yet the country has managed to become the world's leading solar power generator: Besides large scale solar power stations across the country, there are now photovoltaic – and solar hot water systems on the majority of roofs in Germany. They are owned by legions of homeowners, farmers and small businesses who are capitalizing on the march into renewable energy.
Alberta boasts 1900 hours of sunshine in the northern half of the province, and 2300 hours of sunshine in the south, which accounts for about 50% of all daylight hours here, making solar applications even more feasible.
